Maxim's guide to 'getting any girl into bed', does not seem to apply to getting Naomi to settle.

More appropriate reading material, but just as useless as Maxim. It's in the book!

Well, it's been an interesting first two weeks.  Andrew has been studying very hard, the 'Idiots guide to Fatherhood', the latest medical advice, the parenting magazines and websites on how to bathe a baby etc.
Julie has proclaimed 'it's all common sense'.
Andrew feels shame.  (If anyone wants to buy the Idiot's guide to Fatherhood, please get in touch and I'll give you a good price!)

Pearls of wisdom not in the book and that no-one taught us in medical school (so it must not be true!) but are apparently 'common knowledge'
1.  beer makes breast milk taste better and thicker
2.  baby's like gripe water
3.  baby's like sucking on dill pickles (but just the end, you don't want them to choke)
4.  if the nose turns white, they have to pee
5.  if the mouth turns bluish (not cyanosed) they have gas

Wisdom we have learnt:
1. babies poop - alot
2. car trips take one and a half times as long as planned when travelling with a baby.
